Threaded Ball Valve 2-PC Stainless Steel

The Threaded Ball Valve 2-PC Stainless Steel provides compact on/off isolation for industrial equipment connections and utility pipework. Its two-piece housing combines a full-bore ball passage with PTFE seating, offering a practical arrangement for compatible liquids, air and gas. Available from DN15 to DN100 with a published 1000 WOG designation, the valve can be selected with female BSPT or NPT threaded connections.

Key Features

  • Two-Piece Housing: A main body and separate end cap contain the ball and seats. This arrangement provides access to internal components during servicing, following safe isolation and the approved dismantling procedure.
  • Full-Bore Passage: When fully open, the ball opening aligns with the pipeline, helping limit obstruction and pressure loss through equipment connections.
  • Quarter-Turn Operation: A 90-degree rotation provides convenient local shut-off, supporting routine isolation during operation and maintenance.
  • Threaded Equipment Integration: Female connections allow direct assembly with matching pipework or fittings, avoiding separate mating flanges. Confirm the required thread type before ordering.
  • PTFE Seating and Sealing: Soft seat rings establish the closing interface around the ball, while separate packing and joint seals limit external leakage.
  • Automation Interface: An ISO 5211 top flange supports actuator integration after confirmation of operating torque, stem coupling and cycling requirements.
  • Design References: Published specifications identify ASME B16.34 and ISO 17292. Applicable editions, inspection requirements and documentation should follow the purchase specification.

Materials and Construction

  • Body and Ball: Listed stainless steel options include CF8, CF8M and CF3M.
  • Stem and End Cap: Stainless steel.
  • Seats: PTFE.
  • Joint Gasket, Thrust Washer and Stem Packing: PTFE.
  • Gland Nut, Locking Device and Handle: Stainless steel.
  • Handle Cover: Plastic.

Confirm individual component grades when evaluating corrosion resistance. The body designation should not be assumed to identify the alloy of every internal or external component.

Typical Applications

  • Industrial Water Lines: Compatible process-water, cooling-water and utility-water isolation.
  • Pump and Filter Connections: Local shut-off around equipment requiring access for inspection or replacement.
  • Air and Gas Distribution: Selected services within the confirmed material and pressure–temperature limits.
  • Chemical Transfer Equipment: Compatible fluids supported by an assessment of concentration, temperature and sealing materials.
  • Oil and Lubrication Systems: Selected duties after checking fluid additives, viscosity and operating conditions.
  • General Equipment Assemblies: Threaded utility connections where installation space and straightforward operation are important.

Thread Selection and Installation

BSPT and NPT are different thread systems and should not be intermixed. Confirm thread form, size and mating-component specification before assembly.

For tapered-thread connections, use a compatible sealant and follow the approved tightening procedure. Keep excess sealing material out of the flow passage.

Apply assembly force at the designated wrench flats rather than through the handle. Support and align the pipework to avoid excessive loads on the housing, and allow sufficient clearance for operation and future removal.

Pressure and Service Selection

Confirm the permissible working pressure at the actual temperature. The published 1000 WOG designation does not establish a steam-service rating or compatibility with every medium.

Assess the complete assembly, including seats, packing and joint seals. Steam, hot liquids and chemical services require specific confirmation of operating limits and material suitability.

Use the valve primarily for fully open or fully closed operation. Prolonged throttling can accelerate seat wear, while abrasive particles or deposits can affect sealing performance.

Maintenance Planning

Plan access for valve removal and body disassembly where internal servicing is required. After dismantling, inspect the ball and sealing-contact surfaces, fit specified replacement parts and verify operation and leakage performance before returning the valve to service.
