Threaded Globe Valve Bronze

The threaded bronze globe valve provides isolation for compatible industrial and marine piping systems. Its bronze body and threaded connections offer a practical solution for equipment connections, auxiliary pipework and utility services where material compatibility and convenient installation are important.

The globe valve mechanism moves a disc towards or away from its seat to close or open the flow passage. Where a suitable regulating disc is fitted, the valve can also support manual flow adjustment. The selected configuration should match the required flow rate, differential pressure and shut-off duty.

Key Features

  • Bronze Body Construction: Provides corrosion resistance in compatible fluid-handling applications. The specified alloy should be matched to the fluid composition, operating temperature and surrounding piping materials.
  • Threaded Piping Connections: Connect to matching threaded pipes or fittings without separate mating flanges. Correct thread identification and an appropriate joint sealing method are essential for a secure connection.
  • Stem-Operated Closing Mechanism: The stem transfers operating movement and closing force to the disc. Contact between the disc and seat closes the flow passage, with sealing performance determined by the seating design and specified leakage criteria.
  • Flow Adjustment with Suitable Disc Design: A regulating disc allows progressive changes to the flow passage. Continuous throttling should be assessed against the operating pressure drop and the potential for erosion, vibration or cavitation.
  • Practical Equipment Integration: Threaded ends suit compatible equipment assemblies and utility connections. Installation planning should provide sufficient space for operation, joint assembly and future valve removal.
  • Component-Based Material Selection: Body, disc, seat, stem and packing materials should be evaluated together. Compatibility of the complete valve is more important than body material alone.

Applications

  • Industrial Water Systems: An option for isolation and suitable flow adjustment duties in compatible process-water and utility-water piping.
  • Heating and Cooling Circuits: Can be considered for compatible hot-water, chilled-water and equipment cooling systems after checking the temperature limits, pressure drop and fluid additives.
  • Marine Auxiliary Services: Applicable to selected shipboard utility and service-water lines requiring bronze construction and threaded connections. Seawater suitability depends on the confirmed alloy and internal materials.
  • Equipment and Skid Assemblies: A practical option for compatible pump, heat-exchanger and utility equipment connections where local isolation is required.
  • Selected Steam, Condensate, Oil and Air Services: May be considered where the complete valve’s pressure–temperature rating, seating design and sealing materials are suitable for the specific duty.
  • Maintenance and Replacement: Suitable for consideration when the existing valve’s thread specification, installation dimensions, operating conditions and required function can be matched.

Materials and Construction

  • Body: The bronze body forms the main pressure boundary and contains the internal flow passage. The exact alloy designation should be stated in the material specification.
  • Bonnet Assembly: Closes the upper body opening and supports the stem assembly. The bonnet material, joint design and sealing arrangement should follow the confirmed construction drawing.
  • Disc and Seat: Form the internal shut-off interface. Their materials and geometry determine sealing behaviour, wear resistance and suitability for regulation. Metal-seated and soft-seated constructions have different service limits and should be specified accordingly.
  • Stem: Transmits operating movement to the disc. Its material should provide suitable mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and resistance to wear at the operating threads.
  • Stem Packing: Limits external leakage around the moving stem. Packing material should be selected according to the fluid, temperature and operating frequency.
  • Threaded Ends: Provide the pipeline connections. The thread standard, nominal size and sealing arrangement must be confirmed; similar-looking threads should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
