DIN Flanged Overboard Valve Ductile Iron
Product Overview
The DIN flanged ductile iron overboard valve is designed for marine discharge applications. Its straight-pattern body combines a bolted bonnet, an external spring-loaded assembly and local handwheel operation, with flanged connections for installation in compatible shipboard piping systems.
The ductile iron body forms the main pressure boundary and discharge passage, while the bolted bonnet supports the operating assembly. The stem transmits handwheel movement to the valve mechanism, and the external spring supplies a closing force. Support columns maintain the alignment of the spring assembly.
The disc and seat form the internal closing interface. Their materials and configuration should be selected according to the fluid, required sealing performance and service conditions. Stem packing and bonnet gaskets provide sealing around the stem and bonnet joint, with material selection based on fluid compatibility, operating pressure and temperature.
The painted exterior provides surface protection, while any required internal corrosion protection should be specified separately. The exact ductile iron grade, internal component materials and coating system should follow the confirmed product specification.
Valve selection should consider flow rate, operating pressure, temperature and the differential pressure available for discharge. Spring loading, valve size and internal configuration influence opening and closing behaviour; the flange pressure designation and spring opening setting should be confirmed separately.
